Das Mörtal Transforms I’MMORTAL’s ‘Uncanny Valley’ into Darksynth Territory
‘Uncanny Valley’ (Das Mörtal Remix) hit via IMMORTALITY on October 31, 2025, merging Das Mörtal’s shadowed production with I’MMORTAL’s original edge. The Montréal producer, who started in Berlin under the sway of Steve Moore and Aphex Twin, has stacked EPs and albums that have earned 28 million Spotify streams. His live runs covered Osheaga, Transmusicales de Rennes, FME, and Meg Festival, with openers for Vitalic, Perturbator, and Carpenter Brut—close to 100 dates since 2015, over 70 in the U.S. and Europe from the UK to Scandinavia. He carves out tracks blending techno and occult electro, drawing from horror and sci-fi scores into something dense and drawing. I’MMORTAL, drawing on California orchestra violin roots, debuted in August 2023 with the tech-house single ‘Versace Spaceship’. Her run of releases, including ‘KILLED U IN A DREAM’ remixed by biskuwi and Droid Bishop, clocks in at nearly 500,000 Spotify streams and support from DJ Mag Spain, YourEDM, and more. Her style locks synesthetic visuals to beats that bends and breaks the norm.
Das Mörtal reworked the track’s base of haunted effects, stuttered autotune, sharp trap kicks, that help emphasize the human-machine dichotomy of ‘Uncanny Valley’. For the video, I’MMORTAL grips a pole stage in blue light over red hues, a sinister voyeuristic aspect is introduced through the shadowed figure lurking in the background, added by the tense uneasiness of the darkwave synth edit courtesy of Das Mörtal.
