Indie pop/Indie- Folk band teepee release ‘Parallel Worlds’
The Czech Republic Indie & dream-pop duo have released their new album and video both on 31 January 2020. They are known for their melancholic subject matter, Where the Ocean Breaks which deals with adversity, and deep questions of the heart.
Their previous single ‘No Reason’ received attention from the popular Indie music site on Youtube called Mr Suicide Sheep, which has 12 million-plus subscribers. teepee’s music generated hype in the Czech club scene in 2015. On Spotify, they have over 200 thousand streams.
They have shared the stage with acts such as Jesse Ware, Seafret, Oh Wonder, Peter Bjorn, and John or Laurel. They have played multiple shows in the United Kingdom, Austria, Germany, Slovakia, and Poland.
teepee consists of Miroslav Patočka (Mason) and Tereza Lavičková , who both picked up the guitar at a young age. They met while they were in high school. The duo has a debut album and EP as well, making this album their second studio album.
“The creation of Where the Ocean Breaks, which took almost a year and a half, was truly a transformative experience for both of us. Individually, and also for the band itself. I think that the record represents a significant shift in our sound. We are really grateful for our producer Tom, who showed us a completely different approach to the creation of music, gave us space to experiment and led us very patiently throughout the process.” adds Miroslav.
