House music producer Riton and singer RAYE share powerful dance track

Producer mastermind Riton returns with a fresh single, I Don’t Want You’,  a scintillating collaboration with singer/songwriter/serial hit-maker RAYE. The perfect dancefloor ready kiss-off, ‘I Don’t Want You’ is gargantuan in size,  sampling Dominica’s much beloved 1994 club classic ‘Gotta Let You Go’ officially for the first time. RAYE delivers a signature powerhouse vocal set against the instantly recognisable,  propulsive house beats and piano stabs,  with Riton’s production prowess taking the track stratospheric.

‘I Don’t Want You’ continues a standout year for Riton,  following his mammoth collaboration ‘Come With Me’ with Bradford rising stars, Bad Boy Chiller Crew AKA BBCC and his Platinum selling UK top 5 single ‘Friday’, which is one of the biggest streaming dance records globally this year, reaching the #1 airplay spot at UK radio.  ‘I Don’t Want You’ also welcomes a fresh chapter for the newly independent pop behemoth RAYE,  who recently had a Top 5 hit with ‘Bed’, her collaboration with Joel Corry.  She also received a BRIT Award ‘Best British Single’ nominated for her track ‘Secrets’ with DJ Regard and just released her own solo single “Call On Me”.

RAYE delves into the meaning behind the lyrics of ‘I Don’t Want You’; “I wrote this song on the day I became independent. I hadn’t written for a long while before this day so it just felt really euphoric and so fun to make. I got sent the beat from Riton and immediately knew where I wanted to take it. It’s about empowering yourself from those who refuse to give you the love you deserve. Switching up your energy, and taking the power back.”

Riton adds, “I’m a huge fan of RAYE’s work and the top line she delivered here is one of the best I’ve ever heard – the combination of that with a sample from one of my favourite house records of all time in Dominica is potent.”

Riton’s club hits are defining a generation – and making them party hard. He’s found a firm footing at the top of the charts thanks to smashes like the GRAMMY nominated ‘Rinse & Repeat’,Turn Me On which has garnered over 300 million streams and most recently, his aforementioned mega hit  ‘Friday’. He also co-produced on the Dua Lipa and Silk City single Electricity’, a smash that went on to win the GRAMMY for ‘Best Dance Recording’, proving his ability to countlessly reinvent himself in an ever-growing crowded market. And yet he’s also a maverick who has forged a unique path alongside dance music’s best. His influence across club culture is vast, stretching back decades and across myriad sounds and scenes, connecting the dots between electroclash and electro-house, UK bass and hip-house, and injecting club music with some much-needed personality.

As one of the Top 130 most streamed artists in the world on Spotify with over 22 million monthly listeners,  RAYE is a multi-hitmaker,  celebrated song-writer and award winning artist, amassing over 1.4 billion Spotify streams of her own music. She has a double Platinum, three x Platinum, two Gold and five Silver singles under her belt and is indisputably one of today’s premier songwriters in the UK. She has written songs for artists such as John Legend, Major Lazer, Charli XCX, Little Mix, Hailee Steinfeld, Quavo, Normani, Ellie Goulding, Jax Jones, Khalid, 6LACK and Jessie Reyez, and worked with the world’s biggest songwriters and producers including David Guetta, Diplo, Bloodpop, Andrew Watt, Jin Jin, Kamille, Julia Michaels, Fraser T Smith, Fred Ball and Justin Trantor. She also co-wrote Beyonce‘s single ‘Bigger’, the opening track from the new Lion King inspired album. In 2019 she was awarded The BMI Impact Award in recognition of her ‘groundbreaking artistry, creative vision and impact on the future of music’.
